Saturday 22nd March sees the premiere of Views From Here, the largest commission in the programme. The event runs from 6pm til 8pm and takes place at The Bethesda Chapel, in the City Centre. It will be an extraordinary evening of visual art giving a completely new perspective on North Staffordshire. For a taste of the work see www.viewsfromhere.co.uk.
Stephen Sharp will be publishing the results of his text vote on banners at Newcastle Road, Newcastle-under-Lyme and March Street, City Centre (Hanley) from 10th March until 24th March 2008.
Chris’ sculptural wall is currently on display at Crescent Community Centre, Meir until 3rd March 2008.
Following his community event in December and workshops in January/February, Chris says ‘I’m really excited that the wall is being exhibited at Crescent Primary School so that the people who took part can see and view their work as it evolves. I am expecting the wall to change over the course of the exhibition as people add more thoughts and images to it’.
Dinu Li will be showing his film, looking at the passing of light and the changes that take place in time and space, on Monday 17th March 2008.
Dinu will present his film at: The Film Theatre, Flaxman Building, Staffordshire University, College Road, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 2EF.
Complimentary drinks and snacks will be available from 6.30pm, with the main presentation and Q&A session starting at 7pm. Dinu will then be available at the bar from 8-9pm.
Roger Brown has been working with residents of the Waterside area of Hanley to create an exhibition of photographs that will be exhibited on Saturday 15th March between 2-5pm at the Dresden Street Community Centre and will run until the end of April 2008.
Phoebe Cummings will be unveiling her exhibition at the Etruria Industrial Museum on Thursday 28th February 2008 from 2-4pm.
The exhibition will be open to the public when the museum re-opens on 26th March 2008.
After her workshops in Greenland, Phoebe is now set to work with Year 3 pupils at John Baskeyfield Primary on 18th and 19th February, with the final exhibition planned for 28th February 2008.
Please watch this space for more updates on Phoebe’s project.
